Evelyn G. (Metzger) Mamerow

Evelyn G. Mamerow of Iron Ridge passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 94 years.  She was born October 22, 1922 in Waukesha the daughter of William and Viola (nee Kuphal) Metzger.  Evelyn and her late husband Walter farmed outside of Neosho for many years.  She canned the garden vegetables that provided for her family throughout the year. She loved raising flowers, which were plentiful around the farm. She was a farmer’s wife and a loving mother and her children have fond memories of their childhood.  She belonged to the Ladies Aid Group of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church  of Neosho, past member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church of Lebanon, a member of St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge.  A past member of the Forever Young Club of Ashippun, and the Golden Youth of Iron Ridge.

She is survived by her loving children, Nancy (Fred) Albrecht of Hartford, Donald Mamerow of Wild Rose, Pat (Jerry) Lauersdorf of Hazelhurst, Dave (Ruth) Mamerow of Iron Ridge, Tim (Amy) Mamerow of Oconomowoc.  She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Lisa Laufer (special friend Matt Katona), Lora (Rick) Courtney, Todd Albrecht (fiancée Angie Lindgren), Tina (Earl) Eichline, Angie (Rodney) Stuart, Becky Mamerow, Brian Mamerow (fiancée Jen Maddox), Jenny (Craig) Gielow, Susie (Corey) Schuett, Mike Mamerow (fiancée Laura Fischer), Lindy (Mike) Frechette, Andrea (Josh) McDermott, Caleb Mamerow, Emily Mamerow, and 27 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren.  Also survived by her sister Shirley Ress of West Bend.  Also surviving are other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband Walter in 1983, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 grandchildren Tony & Amy Lauersdorf, 1 great grandchild Kyle Mamerow. 

Visitation is Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. Matthew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Iron Ridge from 11:00-1:00 p.m.  Funeral service will follow Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at church.  Rev. Larry Mose will officiate.  Interment St. Matthew’s church cemetery.  Memorials to St. Matthew’s Debt retirement fund would be appreciated.
