Lester E. Zubke of Hustisford was surrounded by his loving family when he went home to be with his Savior, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the age of 84 years.  He was born June 4, 1933 in the Town of Emmett, the son of Walter and Hilda (nee Duehring) Zubke.  Les graduated from Hustisford High School, and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. After the Korean Conflict, his ship was assigned to do a goodwill tour completing a trip around the world.   After his service in the Navy, he married Judith Klatt at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Clyman in 1958.   He worked for UST Corporation for 35 years as a Division Manager until his retirement in 1991.  Les was a long time member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, and served on the school board for eight years, as well as, various other committees.  He also served on the Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School Board of Directors.  Being very civic minded, he was the Town of Hustisford Clerk for 25 years, Hustisford Fire Dept. Board President for 25 years, and a member of the Hustisford American Legion Post #420, Hartford VFW Post #8834, Dodge County 40/8, Voiture #856.  Les enjoyed spending time on the farm, and also deer and turkey hunting, fishing in Canada, as well as, playing golf with his friends and traveling.  Wintering in Scottsdale, AZ was always a reprieve from Wisconsin winters.  He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, especially sheepshead.

He is survived by his loving wife Judith, his loving children Roger (Helen) Zubke, Julie (Tim) Weymier, Susan (Michael) Rutz, Paul Zubke, Daughter-in-law Tricia Zubke.  He is also survived by his precious grandchildren Sheila (Josh) Grau, Nathan Zubke, Zachary and Lexana Rutz, and loving great grandchildren Camden, Catelynn, and Carter Grau.  Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Les is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wayne, and son Tracy. 

 

Visitation is Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church in Hustisford, and Friday, Janauary 5, 2018 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at church.  Funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m.  Rev. Jonathan Loescher will officiate.  Internment Hustisford Cemetery.  Military graveside service under the auspices Hustisford American Legion Post #420.  Memorials to Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, or St. Luke’s Heart Research Center would be appreciated.
