Maxine H. (Baerwald) Klug

Maxine H. Klug of Juneau passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at the age of 90 years.  She was born May 20, 1926 in Juneau, the daughter of Harry & Hilda (nee Korth) Baerwald.  She was a lifetime member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau, and married William Klug April 14, 1945 at St. John’s.  Maxine was a homemaker, who raised two loving children, and was known for her tidy housekeeping.  She worked seasonally at Jolly Green Giant in Beaver Dam, and volunteered at Clearview Nursing Home with Bingo and other projects.  She enjoyed polka dancing with her husband Billy, and went to State Polka Festivals on weekends.  She liked playing Sheepshead with relatives and friends.

She is survived by her children Steven (Phyllis) Klug of Greeley, CO & Audrey Schaefer of Plymouth, WI.  Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her husband William, and an infant daughter.   

Visitation is Thursday, April 6, 2017  from 11:00-Noon at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau.  Funeral service will follow at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran church at 12:00 noon.  Pastor Paul Schupmann will officiate.  Internment Juneau City Cemetery.  Memorials to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church organ fund would be appreciated.
