Robert S. Semler

Robert S. Semler of Hartford passed away surrounded by his loving family Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the age of 75 years.  He was born January 15, 1942 in Hartford, WI. the son of Francis and Lillian (nee Emmer) Semler.  He married Marilyn Lau at Peace Lutheran Church in 1962.  He was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church and served on the Church Council and other committees. Bob was a retired Deputy Chief of Hartford Fire & Rescue. Past President and owner of R.S. Semler & Associates Insurance, Inc. Bob took over the Wilmer L. Lau Agency in 1968.  He also, served on the Hartford Hospital Board, the Hartford Savings Bank Board, Hartford Chamber of Commerce Board, and the Hartford Golf Club Board and was a long time member of Hartford Lions Club.

He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, and his loving children Craig R. (Mary) Semler, Angela (Kevin) Weber, and his precious five grandchildren Cori, Lindsey and Erica Semler, Stephan and Nicole Weber.  Also surviving is his sister Patsy (Wayne) Rusniak, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time up north at his cabin, as well as grandkid’s events. Bob will be missed by his family and friends.

Visitation is Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 10:00 until 1:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church 1001 Center Street Hartford, WI.  Funeral Service will follow Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at church, Rev. Aaron Steinbrenner will officiate.  Internment Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or Peace Lutheran School Athletic Fund, the St. Joseph’s Kramer Cancer Clinic or Angels Grace Hospice facility in Oconomowoc.
