Evelyn D. Smith, 94, formerly of Hartford, was Born to Eternal Life on Monday, June 14, 2010. She was born April 20, 1916 in Milwaukee, the daughter of John and Erna (nee Lueck) Miller. She married Harold Smith on August 21, 1945 in Chicago. Evelyn and Harold lived on Pike Lake in Hartford for many years. She was a past member of the Hartford Senior Center. Evelyn was wellknown and very well-liked.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold, her son Dean, and her sister Lorraine Dermody Evelyn is the loving mother of Alan (Alice) Schmatzhagen. Also survived by 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be from 9-11 AM Thursday, June 17 at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Lisa Schmatzhagen will officiate. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Cedar Community, 5595 County Highway Z, West Bend, WI 53095, in Evelyn's name, would be appreciated.
