Cynthia Proctor Obituary

Cyndi will be missed by all who knew and loved her.  She was lucky to be married to her beloved husband Patrick for 36 years. She was the love of his life, his rock.

Cyndi loved shopping; loved to go to rummage sales, bargain hunting, and haggling. She even loved grocery shopping and the words “on sale” were her kryptonite. She enjoyed lunches and dinners out especially Friday fish fry’s at the Lake Street Inn.  She also enjoyed target practice with her .380 Sig-Saur.  She loved summer afternoons preparing food on their smoker or grill with Pat on the patio and cold winter evenings and sitting with him in front of the fireplace. She was a fantastic cook and her freezer has always been stuffed to the brim. Her family liked to joke her house is the place to be when the “end of times” comes! Lol.

She knew what it was like to struggle in her younger years and later was very generous and giving, helping friends and strangers who became good friends.

Cyndi was a true animal lover. She had a unique bond with their dog Clyde and missed him until the day she died. She adopted stray cats from around her house and wanted to bring every animal from the Dodge County Humane Society home. Animal lovers know how important our pets become to us.

Cyndi loved being a Grandma, and Gillian was so very important to her. Her relationship with her son was strained, but Cyndi tried to be the best mom she could be. She was a loving sister and could always be counted on to be there when she was needed. Her sister Kim will especially miss her weekly phone calls to catch up.

Cyndi would want those of us left behind to realize how precious life is and how quickly things can change. Tell the people you love that you love them often, make time for those you love, and don’t create a bucket list, do what you want to do when you want to do it.

While we are sad that Cyndi is no longer with us, we can take solace in the fact that she is reunited with her parents and family who have gone before. We hope she is having a beer right now with her mom, dad, Auntie Fran, her brother Chuck and in-laws Ruth and Bill!

Here’s to you Cyndi, we will always love you.

A private memorial service and time of remembrance was held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home-Hartford. Fr. David LaPlante officiated.
