John L. Mason

 John L. Mason of Hartford, WI was Born to Eternal Life on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the age of 63 years.  He was born on August 26, 1954 in Deer Lodge, MT, the son of William and Hazel (nee Dunville) Mason.  He was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his granddaughter, Kira.  John worked at GE as a program manager for 41 years.  He was “Mr. Fix-it” when someone needed something fixed.  For the first three years of his granddaughter’s life, John was her primary day care provider.  He was affectionately referred to by his family and granddaughter as “Bubba.”  John loved playing a good game of Sheepshead whenever possible.

John is survived by his loving wife, Linda J. (nee Sokol) Mason, his loving son, Jeremy L. (Kimberly) Mason, and his precious granddaughter, Kira E. Mason.  Also surviving are his brothers Joseph (Sheila) Mason, and Ernie Mason, his sister Lynn “Sparky” (Fay) Plank, and his parents-in-law James P. and Corrine Sokol, sisters and brothers in law, Diane (Jim) LaBelle, Cindy (Mark) Bryzski, Robert Sokol, Kathleen (Mike) Gill and Gary (Valery) Sokol.   Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. .. 

The family would like to thank the care teams at Beaver Dam Community Hospitals, St. Joseph’s Hospital, West Bend and the Life Care Hospitals of Wisconsin for special care of John.

Family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church, 670 e. Monroe Avenue, Hartford.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m.  Fr. Lars Scoglund will officiate.  The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home – Hartford is serving the family.
