Lovell D. Smith

Lovell D. Smith, Of Lake Geneva, passed away unexpectedly on October 4, 2017, at the age of 49 years. He was born on June 25, 1968, in Milwaukee, the son of Floyd and Freddie  (nee Smith) Griffin.  Lovell graduated from West Allis Central prior to enlisting and serving in the U.S. Marines for 4 years.  Lovell received his Associates Degree at ITT tech in engineering and later his Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Marquette University.  Lovell worked for over 15 years for AT&T in the engineering department as a cell phone engineer.   Lovell enjoyed jogging, walking, playing basketball and football, playing dominoes and spending time with his friends and his family, especially his grandson, Mikale.  Lovell was a loving dad and grandpa and was very faithful in his beliefs as a member of St. Mary of the Hill Parish.

Lovell is survived by his two daughters, Shannon and Jessica Smith (Brandon Lueck); one grandson, Mikale Smith; his wife, Manuela Smith; father, Floyd Griffin; 7 siblings, Torin (Renecia) Smith, Tasha Jenkins, Floyd Griffin III, Farris (Kelly) Griffin, Leilone Griffin, Shawn Griffin and Brandon Griffin (Siri Hernandez); his special friends, Father Fred, Arja Andersson, Catherine Boerchinger and Zhanna and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Lovell was preceded in death by his mother, Freddie Mae Griffin in 2004.

Mass of Resurrection, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 3:00 PM at The Basilica at Holy Hill, 1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus WI. Family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment at Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to St. Mary of the Hill Parish – Stewardship Committee.
