Phyllis Bates Obituary

 

Bates, Phyllis Ann was Born to Eternal Life on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the age of 87 years.  She was born on October 22, 1930 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Armin and Helen (nee Wolfgram) Raser.  She was a devoted mother who lovingly raised her children.  Phyllis was a longtime, active member of St. Aidan Episcopal Church.  She was active in community services as a Girl Scout leader, and as a member of the Hartford Lioness club.  She enjoyed the several social clubs that Hartford provided. 

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Bates.  Phyllis was the devoted mother of Stephen (Bernadette) Bates of Wauwatosa, Sandra (David) Tracy of Slinger, Barbara Lindert (special friend Don) of Harford, Patricia (David) Race of Shawno, Judith Bates of Texas, and Karen (Gary) Zastrow of Mayville.  She is also survived by 16 loving grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends, and by James Lindert.  Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, her sister Joyce Fairchild, and her grandchildren, Kendra and Jonathan.

Visitation is Friday, August 24, 2018 from 9-11 a.m. at St. Aidan Episcopal Church, 670 E. Monroe Avenue, Hartford, WI.  Mass of Resurrection will follow at 11 a.m. at Church.  Fr. Lars Scoglund will officiate. Interment Valhalla Memorial Park, Milwaukee, WI.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Majestic Heights in Hartford, Horizon Hospice, and Dr. Eric Weber for their compassionate care of Phyllis during her time of need. 

Memorials to St. Aidan Episcopal Church and the Hartford Lioness would be appreciated.  The Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home – Hartford is serving the family.
