Gary Leland Schuppel

Gary Leland Schuppel of Horicon, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the age of 79.  He was born on September 14, 1941 at St. Joseph’s hospital, West Bend, son of Bobblin and Ruby (nee Lepien) Schuppel.  Gary grew up and worked alongside his parents on the family farm located in the Slinger area.  He later worked as a fork lift operator for over 30 years at Metalcraft of Mayville.

Gary enjoyed camping, deer hunting and going to the casinos with friends.  He loved get-togethers for birthdays, holidays and many other special occasions.  He owned a motorcycle for many years and loved to ride.  He took the greatest pride in his flame red Ford pick-up truck, with dual exhaust and distinguished with a hood ornament depicting the U.S. flag and eagle.  When Gary retired, he joined Senior Friends of Mayville, where he enjoyed playing sheepshead and bingo.

Gary is survived by his 3 siblings: Gail (David) Kainz, JoAnn (Doug) Taylor and Bill (Phyllis) Schuppel, 13 nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and nephews, 1 great-great niece, cousins, and special friend Lorraine Koepsell.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Shari Tyndall and nephew Brett Kainz.

A visitation will be held at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, 226 S. Main St., Hartford, WI. Tuesday, July 27th, from 10:30 -12:30 with a funeral service to follow.  Associate Pastor Jonathan Szczesny of St. Stephen Lutheran Church will officiate.  A luncheon will follow at the Funeral Home.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Horicon, or a charity of your choice in Gary’s name is greatly appreciated.
