Richard Lang Obituary

Richard Dale Lang, of Neosho, passed away, Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his home.  Dick was born, March 21, 1939, in Watseka, IL, the oldest of four children of Sylvester and Marguerite (Fisher) Lang. They lived in Kentland, IN until he was of school age when they moved to West Allis, WI. Shortly after high school, while working at Dutchland Dairy, Dick met the love of his life, Donna Rieck. They were married on August 20, 1960 and started their beautiful family. Before too long they outgrew their tiny apartment above Donna’s grandparents. They purchased their first home in Muskego where their family continued to grow. With nine children and another on the way, they were in search of a bigger home. They were able to fulfill their dream of owning a home in the country and moved to Neosho and then their family was complete when their 11th child was born. Through the past 46 years they have gained cherished friends in their neighbors and fellow parishioners at St. Matthew’s Catholic church.

Dick retired in 2001 from the Waukesha Post Office after 32 years. In his retirement his greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. Camping, gardening, fishing, and feeding the birds were some of his favorite activities. Rarely would he miss one of his grandchildren’s sporting or musical events. He was never seen without Donna by his side, his ever-loving devotion to her through all things. His kindness to all will never be forgotten.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Donna Jean (Rieck) Lang, his 11 children: Jeffrey & (Gwen) Lang , Laura (Scott) Flower, Kenneth “Ken-I” Lang, Jean Juskowiak, Michael ( Andrea ) Lang, Linda Klink (Tom Reed), Patricia Lang (Paul Marx), Janet (Jody) Kehl, Daniel (Tracy) Lang, Jonathan ( Deanna) Lang, Carrie (Joel ) Kirkland, 30 grandchildren: Ruth Aiello, Anna Pulvermacher & Caleb Lang, Michelle Duffy & Matthew Felder, Adam, Nathan & Elizabeth Motl, Joe, Ashlynn, Hunter, Breelynn, Isabella, Sierra, Raeleigh & Boden Lang Cody, Cale & Collin Klink, Brandon, Jordan & Logan Ketelhut, Jared & Jenna Kehl, Owen & Lily Lang, Trevor & Tanner Lang, Charlie & Samantha Kirkland.  Also, survived by his 17 great-grandchildren.
